This has been a tough season for all seattle fans, but their is still hope. The Seahawks are just having a bad season and will definitly be back in playoff contention next year. The Seahawks still have the core of players around their team that they had in their previous two years, in which they went quite far in the playoffs. The Seahawks only have a couple weakness on their team. Their might be a slight weakness in WR, they have Dieon Branch and Nate Burleson, and that is basicly it. That is about all the weaknessess that the hawks have, every other posistion has a good starter at it, or even two starters. Coach Mike Holmgrem, who has already stated that this would be his last year in Seattle, has said that "it is time for the future," meaning that it was young QB Kellen Clemens time. However, if Clemens does not seem to be improving or does not look to be the future, the Seahawks could use one of their 5 picks in the first two rounds to select a QB for the future, SEattle has also seemed quite interested in young QB JP Losman. The Seattle Seahawks have also gone and have accepted a trade that sends former starting QB Matt Hasselbeck and HB Alvin Pearman to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for Their first round selection, their third round selection and QB Steve McNair. It this trade is approved by the league, this would mean that SEattle has 3 First round pick and 3 second round picks with two thirds. IT is a time of rebuilding, they have stated that they have contract offers for CB Marcus Trufant, FB Leonard Weaver, and RT Shane Locklear. All three have also said that they will accept the offers once FA begins in March.
After this FA ends, it is time for the 2008 NFL Draft. The Seahawks like I have alrady said, have currently 2 First round draft picks, and three seconds. It looks like either the Bills or the Hawks will have the #1 pick in this draft. Haing the #1 Pick would be a great thing for Seattle, thier team is not as bad as tiher record says they are. If they can get a good player thier and then 4 more with the other picks, this seattle team is going to be scary in 08. This team is gong to be good next year and should be on everyone's radar.
