#1 overall pick

i think that bill parcells shoud take chris long #1 overall.... i kno jake long is a popular choice, but chris long will solidify their defense. offensive tackles are way overrated anyway... u don't give an offensive tackle a 70M contract with 30M in guarantees......

Thats very true. Chris Long by far is better than Jake Long. I disagree about giving T's big money. Joe Thomas last year would have been worth the #1 OVR pick and all that money, but Jake just isn't at that level.

Tackles are anything but overrated, if anything their underrated bad tackles can ruin a QBs career and a good tackle can make them look good, look at Tom Brady you think Randy Moss had everything to do with his crazy season? No it was the OL that all played like probowlers for most of the season (Except the Super Bowl) and not including Nick Kazcur who played like cow shit for most of the season.

I mean, OTs were underrated for a long time, and then they started becoming overrated because they were so underrated. They are definitely important, but my no means would I give an OT 70 million dollars unless I was 100% sure he would perform at an elite level. There's just too much at stake... I mean, to have a good team you need $ for a lot of other skill positions, and if Long is a bust that sets the organization back at least 2 years.

After quarterback, Tackle is the most important position. I would rank i like this:

1. QB
2. OT
3. DL (any position)
4. any other position

My rankings are:

1. QB
2. MLB
3. OT
4. RB / #1 WR
5. DL

OT in general is not very high, but LT is very high. RT is rather low.

And to rank it depends on teams, 4-3, 3-4, what type of offense, blitzing defense, zone defense, Tampa 2.

In general mine are

1. QB
2. LT (unless a lefty QB, then RT to protect the blind side)
3. MLB
4. RB
5. DT/DE (depending on the team. Vikings DT, TB DE for example)

its tough to do rankings because everyone has different Ds
